Aimee Carrero

Aimee Carrero is a Dominican actress best known for her role as Angie on the Cartoon Network live-action series "Level Up." She currently stars as Sofia Rodriguez on the ABC Family sitcom "Young & Hungry."

Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Ms. Carrero graduated from Florida International University with an International Relations degree.

She made her debut in 2009 in the feature film "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel." Ms. Carrero's television credits also include "The Mentalist," "Lincoln Heights," "Hannah Montana," "Men of a Certain Age," "The Middle," "Greek," "Zeke and Luther" and "Baby Daddy."

In 2011, she was cast as Angie in "Level Up" and reprised her role until the series ended in 2013 after two seasons. Ms. Carrero co-starred in the 2012 Lifetime television film "Blue Lagoon: The Awakening." That same year, she made her Off-Broadway debut in Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere play, What Rhymes with America.

In 2014, she co-starred in the horror film "Devil's Due." Ms. Carrero also recurred in the second season of the FX series "The Americans" as Chena, a Sandinista freedom fighter. She also portrayed the role of Emily Osment in the ABC Family sitcom "Young & Hungry."

Ms. Carrero will be the voice of Elena, Disney's first Latina fairy tale princess. The character will first appear in an episode of the Disney Junior series "Sofia the First" and will then be spun off into her own television series entitled "Elena of Avalor," premiering in 2016.
